What's on in Wellington?
Date: Sunday 19th September 2010
Time: 10am - 5pm
Cost: Free! But you need to Register! (if your kids are coming, make sure you register them separately!)
Location: Victoria University Pipitea Campus
Software Freedom Day Wellington is an "everyone-friendly" event! The day will have something for everyone: kids are welcome, and you don't have to be an Open Source guru to enjoy yourself (though there will be lots of geeky stuff for the gurus out there!).
There's an open source program for almost everything - come along and see how FOSS can help you within your business, home, school, and more.
The day will be mostly run as an unconference, and many of the discussion topics will be decided on the day, but we have some interesting presentations lined up already! Here's a preview:
- Lighting Control Desk - written in Python
- Free Software - A Guide for Kids
- Moodle
- Giving Children Metatools to Play With. Seriously.
We'll also have some live music, and some One Laptop per Child XO Laptops for parents, kids, and anyone else interested to have a play with
....and much more to come!
